Brigadier General AKM Majharul Haque was commissioned in the corps of Infantry on 18 June 1993. Besides attending various professional courses at home he attended Logistic Staff Course in Pakistan. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College and successfully completed Armed Forces War Course and National Defence Course from National Defence College. He has attained his Masters Degrees both in English and Defence Studies from Bangladesh National University. He has obtained Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). Presently he is pursuing his PhD Degree from Jahangirnagar University. In his long career, he has served in various Staff, Instructional and Command appointments in different capacities. Besides regimental appointments he served in President Guard Regiment (PGR), Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), 98 Composite Brigade and Army Headquarters. As an instructor, he served as Officiating Instructor Class B in the Army School of Education and Administration (ASEA) and as the Chief Instructor, Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Center (BIRC). He Commanded 25 Bangladesh Infantry Regiment (Division Support Battalion) and a United Nations Contingent (BANBAT 2/ 36 E Bengal) in South Sudan. He also performed as the station commander, Rajshahi station. He served under Blue Helmet in Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo and in South Sudan. Previously he also served in Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) as the Director General (DG).
